Russian Headscarf / Shawls – Large

One of the iconic images of beautiful Russian clothing pieces are gorgeous flowery scarves, worn on shoulders, wrapped loosely around the neck, or as head covering. The wool is not thick – it is very fine, light, and not itchy. With the lightweight, it is amazing how much warmth these give. I have two of these and wear them all the time. It is my go-to cover-up at home when it’s chilly, I wear it with my linen dresses to add warmth and color or throw it on a jacket. The scarves look beautiful and are a great garment to pull over the head to keep dry away from Seattle drizzle. You can also drape it around the waist to add flair to your skirt.

Scarves are made with love in small workshops in Russia as they have been for centuries. Most are finished with decorative black fringe. It is a fabulous practical gift to yourself and others.

Patterns may vary slightly from the pictures. Sizes vary – the picture may show a different size. Large scarf is 38″x38″ without the fringe. For other sizes see tab below.

• These scarves are made in Russia in small or medium workshops carrying on the artisan traditions of centuries.  The beauty of floral patterns is famous around the world, often designed by specific local craft artists based on historical patterns. The shawls combining beauty with the practicality of any day use. 

  Many (not all) of our shawls come from Pavlovsky Posad. That manufacturer has been specializing in scarf art since 1812, , accomplishing the status of a Purveyor to the Russian Imperial Court, producing a wide range of gorgeous coverings. The project of bringing more of practical art to you is our effort to bridge the peace and appreciation between two far-away countries for people who appreciate the skill and hard work. • Easy Returns All items (except underwear and socks) are returnable within 30 days, as long as they are unused and unwashed, no perfume or smoke (keep this in mind when trying on your clothes), with tags remaining.  Only the cost of merchandise, not the shipping fees are refunded.
